Zhiyin Hao created by Director Fan Yue provides a new and multi-dimensional theater going experience on the Yangtze River. Pioneering in “one play, multiple versions” and “Zhiyin services”, Zhiyin Hao is recognised by the provincial government as an important project for promoting regional tourism during the 13th five-year period and is listed as a key cultural project by the municipal government. The play heralds a new benchmark for local as well as national tourism market.
In a nod to the Zhiyin (which literally means understanding each other’s music) legend originated in the area and the local culture, the story is set in between 1920s and 1930s in Wuhan. A vintage-inspired steam boat and a large port constitute the theater where the audience can experience what life was like when the boat is drifting on the Yangtze River.
Commercial scenes of the last century are recreated with sophisticated artistic expression and ingenious scenic design. A time travel with Zhiyin Hao starts at the Wufu Tourist Port and climaxes on the namesake steamboat.
